About

Senior engineers, accountable for the whole job.

Global Automation is led by Federico Cenzato — the engineer who scopes your job, writes the code and commissions the plant. Around that core we work with a trusted network of local and Italian partners, so we have the capacity to take on larger projects without ever putting a layer between you and the people doing the work.

Italy to Whanganui

Federico Cenzato — Founder & Lead Engineer

Our roots are in Italy, where Federico started in industrial automation at seventeen — more than twenty-five years ago — working on process and manufacturing plants where downtime was measured in money per minute. That's where the habits we still work by were formed: understand the process before touching the program, test before you ship, and leave documentation behind that matches the plant.

New Zealand is home now — we're based in Whanganui. The work that keeps us busy here runs through two industries we know deeply: tanneries, and water and wastewater treatment. Both are unforgiving environments for control systems. Our Italian roots — Federico holds dual citizenship — and partnerships give clients access to European engineering capacity and specialist expertise when a project calls for it.

Why a senior-led firm works in your favour

When you hire a large systems integrator, the engineer you meet during the sales process is rarely the one who writes your code. We work the other way: the people you talk to are the people who do the work — so nothing gets lost in a handover, decisions get made at the machine instead of in a meeting, and you're not paying overhead for project layers you never see.

Our partner network is what lets us hold that line as projects grow. When a job needs more hands, specialist trades or extra capacity, we bring in partners we trust — and we'll always tell you plainly where the limits are and how we'd cover them.

What we work with

Schneider is our core platform — PLCs programmed in EcoStruxure Control Expert, Magelis and Exor HMIs — and we work with any PLC brand the plant runs on. Around the controller: IO-Link instrumentation and plant networks on Modbus TCP and EtherNet/IP. Deliverables you'll recognise: FAT and SAT protocols, commissioning, electrical and as-built documentation, and ongoing site support — including 24/7 breakdown support for our customers.

We specialise in Industry 4.0 integration — connecting the plant floor to the data layer above it, so machines, sensors and databases work as one system instead of islands. The point isn't the buzzword: it's production data you can trust, available where decisions get made.
